We view Persevera as a form of preventive medicine. By partnering with us, you’ll embark on a journey toward strength and wellbeing that will help to protect you against life’s stresses.
Persevera’s protocols are designed for people who want to maximize results but minimize training time. Based on hard science and three decades of experience training athletes, celebrities, Wall Street executives, media executives, fashion editors and other highly-motivated and busy New Yorkers, Jim Clarry and his team have created a framework that can be tailored to meet the objectives and concerns of nearly every individual. Importantly, our programs eliminate the ineffective and time-consuming noise that often discourages even passionate people from reaching their goals.
Persevera is not a big box gym. Our small, boutique studio offers comfort, privacy and an atmosphere that is conducive to our personalized, one-on-one service. You may also opt to train with us online in between studio visits to maintain or accelerate your progress.
Every individual is different. Below is a sampling of our members’ common objectives, but this list is not exhaustive. Our job is to help you achieve (and elevate) your specific set of goals.

Through in-studio and remote training sessions and guidance for everyday living, Persevera takes a holistic approach to helping you achieve success.
Strength Training: No wellness regimen is complete without a focus on strength training. Resistance training produces a variety of fitness and health benefits, ranging from the obvious (such as enhanced power and improved muscle tone) to the less apparent (including enhanced mobility, stability and coordination, improved bone quality, a reduction in body fat and an elevation in endorphin levels).
Conditioning: While our training sessions will burn calories and increase your metabolic rate both during and following your workouts, your genetics, lifestyle and goals may warrant the inclusion of additional conditioning exercises. We may therefore recommend that you incorporate steady-state and/or interval metabolic and cardiovascular conditioning protocols into your weekly regimen.
Nutrition: Proper nutrition is as important to a member’s overall wellbeing as proper training. Persevera’s trainers share nutritional advice based on your state of health, fitness level and training frequency to help achieve goals ranging from fat loss to lean muscle growth.
Recovery: We’ll work with you to ensure that you have sufficient downtime between training sessions, and may also recommend tools and techniques for you to use in studio or at home to promote recovery.
As a boutique private trainer, we admit that we cannot be all things to all people. While those who enjoy spending a great deal of time in training facilities tend to appreciate sprawling, big box gyms, our studio is a private, trainer-assisted facility that accommodates members on an appointment-only basis.
Furthermore, if your schedule does not permit you to train for 30 to 60 minutes per week in-studio or remotely on a regular basis, or you cannot commit to bringing intensity and focus to your training sessions, we may not be able to provide you with the exceptional and sustainable outcomes on which we pride ourselves. We unfortunately do not sell magic potions— your concentration, consistency, precision and passion are all necessary ingredients to produce optimal results.
