Jim is the founder of the Persevera training studio in New York City. He has been in the trenches training clients, educating and mentoring other personal trainers and researching the latest science since 1988. His clientele includes Wall Street financiers, business leaders, celebrities, journalists, artists, athletes and other trainers.
Jim's journey to prominence in personal training began when he was in high school. Despite lacking the physical prowess of many of his peers, he diligently pursued his goal of performing at a high level in various competitive sports. He quickly found that the traditional training approaches that worked so well for the genetically gifted seemed to be ineffective for him. His obsession to break through barriers and unlock his own potential prompted him to develop a targeted approach to health, nutrition and fitness that he has continued to perfect over more than a quarter of a century.
Realizing that most successful people have average genetics and limited time— but also a competitive desire to look and feel their best— Jim tailored his protocols so that busy professionals could achieve exceptional results safely and without the unreasonable time commitment that so often derails health and fitness ambitions. Jim’s passion is to help Persevera’s members attain the physical and mental joy that he has achieved for himself. His revolutionary training system has inspired a passionate loyalty from his clients, many of whom have been training with him for over fifteen years.

One of Jim’s favorite activities is taking the ice with his teenage son to skate through an hour of grueling hockey drills. Many of his friends and clients are looking forward to the day when he’ll agree to branch out and take hip hop dance classes with his daughter. If that should ever come to pass, we’ll do our best to videotape it for your viewing pleasure!
